Sam will talk about his experience as a specialist in construction innovation and how the new eco-system in the industry is providing benefits for contractors, investors and environmental sustainability. The advances that have been made in in digital information systems, offsite manufacturing and clean energy, have radically improved efficiency. These techniques were extensively piloted as part of the UK Government’s Transforming Construction Programme, which Sam led. Construction has historically been a low-margin business, but the new techniques strip out many of the costs of delivery. Sam believes that an international race is taking shape to grow the companies that will exploit these opportunities, and gain market share.
